UNE - Steady Steps

CESOL, Member of UNE (Spanish Association for Standardisation) took over the secretariat of the Technical Committee for Standardisation "Welding and Related Techniques" (CTN-14) on 18 November 1999. The activity of this Committee focuses on the standardisation of welding by all its procedures, as well as all related techniques, including terminology, definition and representation of welded joints, welding equipment, raw materials (gas, base and filler metals), welding processes and rules, testing and verification methods, design and calculation of welded joints and qualification of welders, with the exclusion of regulations relating to safety in welding procedures. This Committee is responsible for:

• Drawing up the UNE Standards in relation to its activity.
• Monitoring the work of the Technical Committees CEN/TC-121 "WELDING", CEN/TC 240 "THERMAL PROJECTION AND THERMAL PROJECTION COATINGS", and ISO/TC 44 "WELDING AND RELATED TECHNIQUES", proposing the votes and technical comments to the documents, as well as nominating the experts and national delegates who will attend the meetings of these international committees, and translating the documents when they are officially published by CEN.
