Welding Coordination

Welding coordination is described in EN ISO 14731: "Welding coordination. Tasks and responsibilities". The figure of the welding coordinator is a key element in the implementation of the quality standards included in many standards such as EN ISO 3834 or EN 15085 and is a figure that is gaining more and more strength in Europe, especially the figure of the Responsible Welding Coordinator, RWC.

In order to properly train the personnel involved in welding coordination, the European Welding Federation developed the training profiles of Engineer, Technician, Specialist and European Welding Manager, which were subsequently taken over by the International Institute of Welding (for more information on these profiles, please go to the training area).

Ideally, the RWC should be internal company personnel, however, on many occasions, companies do not have the possibility of having a person trained with this qualification, so they resort to external subcontracted personnel. CESOL can help you in this regard as we have staff trained as International Welding Engineers, IWE, with extensive experience in the development of work as RWC in numerous companies.
